Family Services
Respite, community support & personal-care aides for children and youth to age 17 — and the backup that caregivers need.

Raising a child with a developmental disability takes a strong support network. Family Services helps children and youth up to age 17 build relationships, take part in their community and grow — while giving parents and caregivers the respite they need.
What's included
- Respite — in-home or out-of-home hourly support, booked in shifts of three hours or more, that gives caregivers a break.
- Community Support — a Child & Youth Worker takes your child out to enjoy activities.
- Personal Care Aide — hands-on help with hygiene and daily care.
- Work-related childcare — for youth aged 13 and up.
- Shared care — support that includes siblings.
- Youth Night OUT & Summer Day Camps — social fun for ages 10–17.
- Behaviour Consultation — evidence-based strategies for parents.
Understanding the funding (FSCD)
Most supports are funded through Alberta's Family Support for Children with Disabilities program. To receive respite, your child needs a current FSCD agreement. New to FSCD? Call (780) 427-4354 (option 3) — we're happy to help.
How it works
Call (780) 458-7371 and ask for the Supervisor, Family Supports.
